at the turn of autumn

I can't believe fall is already here. It seems like it's been summer forever, no thanks to the sudden heat wave that's been affecting L.A. all week. Fall is my favorite fashion season. I love boots, winter coats, layering, and not to mention the trends that tend to circulate around this time of year. Right now, there's a lot of lace, slouchy sweaters, and it seems like summer's floral dresses are carrying over into fall season. H&M's Fall 2010 collection has some amazing pieces like their aviator faux leather jacket, ruffle dresses, and military-inspired sweaters. The neutral palette is perfect for fall and makes it easy to mix and match however you please.

I love all the giant Lucite jewels, crosses, and mosaic/stained glass designs. The bat-wing sweater that spells out "style" is Amazing and makes me wish it was autumn instead of summer. But then again, I've always been a fall fashion-kind-of-person anyway.

Fall 2010 Trend Alert

It looks like my H&M coat was a good winter investment after all. I'm excited for the fall season and love the timelessness of a good trench coat. Even though it never gets too cold in L.A., I love wearing my jackets and blazers that are otherwise too warm to wear in the summer. Fortunately, my H&M coat is light enough to wear in Califonia wather and perfect for layering with dresses and tights.

Oh, oh goodbye, It's nice to know ya

Last Sunday, my sister and I discovered a new band called The Colourist at Bamboozle Left. Not only is their music great, but I love how they have more than one singer in the band, with one of them being their female drummer, Maya Tuttle. A girl who can sing AND play drums is one of the most exciting and refreshing things I've seen from this music scene in a long time.

Go check them out at here

It's Raining Cats and Dogs!

I stumbled across these examples of yarnbombing today and I think that they are absolutely adorable and amazing! They were created by Howie Woo as a reaction to the rainy weather of Vancouver as well as the arrival of the Winter Olympics.

For those of you who don't know, yarnbombing is a term used to describe a type of graffiti or street art that utilizes knitted or crocheted materials to decorate an urban landscape.

You can also find more of Woo's crocheted creations at his website.

Now, if I could only learn to crochet.....
